Prep a new suit by soaking it in a vinegar and water mixture (1 tablespoon white vinegar per quart of water) for 30 minutes before taking it to the pool or the beach. This should prevent dye from bleeding.
Always remember to remove your silicone pads from the bra pockets if you have them.
Wash your silicone pads with mild hand or body soap, rinse with cold water, pat them with towel and leave them to air dry.
Wash your suit immediately after each use with cold water.
Hand wash it with mild hand or body soap, NO HARSH DETERGENT.
Do not soak.
Do not wring out. Instead, lay the suit in a towel, roll the towel up and squeeze gently.
Lay flat to air dry in shade, STRICTLY NO DRYER.
Allow to rest at least one day for it to return to its original shape. This is because spandex is a 'memory fabric'.
Sit on a towel whenever you are sitting on a rough surface will help to protect your suit too.
(swimsuits are like french fries, you can't have just one)
